Robert Louis Stevenson wrote, “It is the history of our kindnesses that alone makes this world tolerable. If it were not for that, for the effect of kind words, kind looks, kind letters…, I should be inclined to think our life a practical jest in the worst possible spirit.”

God says, “And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32

“Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.”

I am Alan Watkins and this is your “Message of Hope” sponsored by the Grant Street Church of Christ.

Kindness is a trait that can be developed by everyone. No special talent is required. It begins within the heart and radiates outward to affect my relationships with others.

I do not know what darkness or difficulty another person may be facing. But I do know that acts of kindness are one of those things in life that I will never regret.

Have a kind and compassionate day.

Love suffers long and is kind;… (1 Corinthians 13:4)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness,… (Galatians 5:22)

And be kind to one another,… (Ephesians 4:32)

A teacher was giving a lesson on the circulation of the blood. Trying to make the matter clearer, she said, “Now class, if I stood on my head, the blood, as you know, would run into it and my face would turn red.” “Yes,” said the class. “Then why is it that while I am standing upright the blood does not run into my feet? A little fellow shouted, “Because your feet aren’t empty.”

The body of every organization has four kinds of bones.

There are wishbones who hope someone else will do all the work.

There are jawbones who do all the talking, but very little else.

There are knucklebones who knock everything that anybody else tries to do.

There are the backbones who get under the load and do all the work.

What kind of bone are you?

No matter what your circumstances, God does not change.
With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. Matt. 19:26

When I get involved in the lives of others, there is always the chance that I may get hurt. If we share our prosperity, we risk being taken. If we take the lead in some good work, we risk making mistakes and being blamed for failure

Get involved anyway. When we help others the reward outweighs the risk.
